Today I had to explain to a kid that his mother couldn't pick him up for the family party, because she was "ill".
Not such a good day.
We gave him the leftover party food from yesterday and tried to get him to notice his presents. He stayed in his room, playing on his five-year old keyboard.
"Mummy will come tomorrow." I say.
But she won't.
